Being the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr an ophthalmologist, and Thelma Burnell Henson Michele Carey whose birth name is Michele Lee Henson was born on February 26, 1942, in Annapolis, Maryland in the United States of America. As a teenager she became an expert at playing piano and won an award at the national Chicago Music Festival when she was only 13 years old. The family settled within Fort Collins, Colorado with her family. She completed her high schooling at Fort Collins High School where she was graduated in the year 1960.
